Our dogs are not kenneled, they're part of our family and they live in the house with us.
Perhaps some people would disapprove, but we even have a super-duper doggy mattress (the size of a double bed) for them to sleep in the bedroom with us, which is fine unless they've had left over cabbage for tea :-)
